Sites to visit
Here are some places and cities that we love and that we suggest you visit in the area: urban, nature, there is something for everyone!

Herault

Saint Guilhem le Désert : 1 hour from the campsite, on the road to Compostela, Saint Guilhem le Désert is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in France. Gellone Abbey is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a very touristic village, we advise you to go there rather in low season to avoid the "crowds".
If you like the caves about ten minutes from the village you can visit the Clamouse cave.
Not far from there the Devil's Bridge with great swimming spots.

Saint Jean de Fos : Next to the Clamouse cave, still 1 hour from the campsite, Saint Jean de Fos is a pretty medieval village which retains a very old tradition around glazed pottery (crockery, pot, jewelry but also gutters, gutters , tiles that we can see throughout our wanderings in the village). Many workshops / shops on site.

Montpellier : Also 1 hour from the campsite, Montpellier is the second largest city in Occitania. Very dynamic, the city is pleasant to visit with its large pedestrian center and its historical monuments.
Cirque de Navacelles : An hour from here, the Cirque de Navacelles is an exceptional natural site formed by the Vis river whose clear water is very cool. Superb view from the Belvédères de Blandas. Possibility of many walks around and in the circus. Useful info, since the beginning of July and for the summer period, you can leave the car in the car park and use the free shuttle from the Belvédères de Blandas to visit the various sites of the Circus.

Gard

Anduze : " Porte des Cévennes", 50 minutes from the campsite, a nice little Cévennes town to visit, very lively in summer.
Saint-Jean-du-Gard : A little over an hour away, Saint-Jean-du-Gard is worth a visit to the Maison Rouge museum, installed in a former spinning mill, it traces, among other things, the history of Cevennes.

Nîmes : Capital of Gard, about 1h20 from the campsite, Nîmes has a very old history and still has many Roman monuments: arenas, square house, the Magne tower etc. to visit. We recommend, next to the arenas, the Museum of Romanity .

Uzès : At a short 1h30, still a city rich in its history, first with the Roman occupation (see the Pont du Gard) then from the 5th century when it became a large bishopric. The city retains many monuments from these periods and still has a historic center where it is good to stroll around the Place aux Herbes, for its market and its pretty shops. We advise you to avoid the high season to go there, many people.
For (older) children we recommend the 1900 museum.

Pont du Gard : museum, stroll, cinema, swimming there is something to see and do on the site of the Pont du Gard, Roman remains from the 1st century
