Sites to visit
Here are some places, villages, towns that we love and that we suggest you visit in the area, not necessarily very touristy but which have remained authentic : urban, nature, there is something for everyone!

Gard

Saint-André-de-Majencoules : Small typical Cévennes village not far from the campsite, with its terraces, old streets, ideal for take a walk, glean chestnuts, delicious mushrooms ...

Sumene : 15 minutes from the campsite, the small town of Sumène is worth a look, for its alleys, its terraces where the sweet onions of the Cévennes grow and for the atmosphere that emanates from them more generally.

Sommière : Small friendly village that has survived the ages, pleasant to visit especially in summer with its narrow and cool alleys.

Sauve : Small medieval town which has kept the charm of its past, on the heights of the village discover the "sea of rocks" (possible walk) and original local crafts: the manufacture of hackberry wood forks.
Saint Quentin la Poterie : another village marked by pottery, Saint Quentin la Poterie is also worth a detour with its small alleys and its many potters' workshops. (to visit when you go to Uzès or the Pont du Gard for example).

Herault

Grau du Roi : A little less than 2 hours from the campsite, we recommend Espiguette beach for its wild side.

Pézenas : 1h30 from the campsite, town of Molière, the town is very pleasant to visit with its old streets and traces of its strong historical past. Do not hesitate to get closer to the association Mirondela dels Arts which offers many activities: show, exhibition etc.

Sète : If you are more attracted by the seaside, we recommend the town of Sète, a little less than 2 hours from the campsite, for its canals, for its port, for its buildings with colorful facades, to attend nautical games and much more. other things as well.

Nature outing

Some very nice walks to do in the area :

Orgon waterfall : from Cap de Côte, a short hike of about 3 hours (8 km) through the forest to get to the countryside as far as the Orgon waterfalls. We do not recommend this walk with young children, who are steeped in height to reach the waterfalls.

4000 steps : For experienced hikers! This evocatively named hike will take you from Valleraugue to the Mont Aigoual observatory. Allow around 8 hours for the round trip, around 25km and not far from 1400 meters of vertical drop but the view at the top of Aigoual is worth it!

Saint-André-de-Majencoules :

The Jardin des Sambucs : Hameau le Villaret, 30570 Saint-André-de-Majencoules, 06.82.49.59.19
Schedule every day in summer : 10h00-19h00; September: Thursday to Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
